About
Named after the people who looked after the estate.
injuid is a new company built on old habits. The name is borrowed from a family in fourteenth century Persia whose whole job was keeping someone else's assets in good order, and who ended up running the place because they were good at it.

The name.
In the 1320s a man named Sharaf al-Din Mahmud was sent to Fars, in what is now southern Iran, to administer the Mongol crown estates. The estates were called inju, and the people who ran them took the name. He was so good at looking after land that belonged to somebody else that within a decade he was running the region, and when the empire fell apart the Injuids governed Shiraz and Isfahan in their own right.
The last of them, Abu Ishaq, ruled for about fifteen years. The traveller Ibn Battuta met him and wrote that he was good-tempered, modest, and liked by the people of Shiraz. He paid the poet Hafez, and under him the city had the best run of writing it ever produced. He then picked a fight with the neighbours over a province he did not need, lost, and that was the end of the dynasty.
We are taking the first half of that story. Stewardship, done so well that the trust compounds. The second half is a useful reminder about scope creep.

The name is a standard, not a logo. Three things it holds us to.
It is your estate, not ours
Every domain, account, server, and line of code is registered to your business. injuid has delegated access and can be removed in an afternoon. A steward who owns the land is not a steward.
Looking after it is the job
Anyone can build software. The monthly plan is where the name is earned: patched, monitored, backed up, restored on a schedule, and answered by a person in month seven.
Fund the good work
The Injuids are remembered for Hafez, not for tax collection. We aim to be remembered for the systems that quietly ran for years, and for the founders who got a partner instead of an invoice.
Ten years of being the person who gets the call.
Not ten years writing software. Ten years in IT, being the one who gets called when other people's shortcuts fall over. Backups never tested, domains registered to someone who left, databases open to the internet. That is the experience injuid is built on.
injuid is new. The experience behind it isn’t.
How to say it.
in-JOO-id. Rhymes with fluid, roughly. It is not injured, though a few people will hear that on the phone, and we have made peace with it.
